AACo’s Livingstone Beef processing facility is located in the Livingstone Valley, approximately 50 kilometres south of Darwin in the Northern Territory. The facility produces export beef, hides and rendered products.

In August 2018, processing was halted and operations are currently in a suspended state.

Environmental Management

As a company, AACo recognises and is committed to the important role we have to play in ensuring responsible environmental management.

Environmental management and community engagement for the facility is overseen by AACo’s Environmental Manager, based in Darwin. Whilst processing is suspended, AACo will continue ongoing maintenance and ensure the site complies will all requirements under the facilities’
environmental licensing.

This includes:

  • Maintenance of major infrastructure
  • Upkeep of waste-water treatment plant whilst facility is in maintenance mode
  • Ongoing full weed management program, including active control of gamba grass and the maintenance of buffer zones
  • Regular maintenance of firebreaks and reduction of fire risks
